today was a day to remember in my military book. i’ve been training extra early in the morning for two hours a day and sometimes in the evening for a new color in my Marine Corps Matrial Arts Program belt. the Marine Corps designed a matrial arts program that tries to combine all types of fighting movements and techniques to create a special type of close combat behavior. there are 6 belt colors and here is the order: tan, gray, green, brown, black (1st degree), black (2nd degree). now, initially, all recurits entering the Marine Corps are required to complete the Tan belt requirements. up until now, i haven’t yet got a chance to complete the hours and training requirements for the next level. although i trained with military police (MP) and the crisis management force (CMF), which use and train techniques from all belts up to the green and a few brown, this wasn’t enough to get my certificate for the gray. i passed the entire syllabus with only missing two movements. if you want to see some pictures of the training, you can google it look at these pictures i found at a webshot community. the 3 weeks of training every morning wasn’t easy, but the movements were pretty simple to remember. i especially liked the grapple movements because that is something i take to heart. one thing i know for sure, i won’t ever tap-out in a grapple match. oh, and you can read the Marine Corps Matrial Arts Program’s Order and find out how the basic outline of the program works. enjoy.
One mind. Any Weapon.
