Just got back from a weekend spent at my Grandma’s house down in Laredo, Texas. It was a great big mexican dish filled weekend. I was surprised to see alot of the family that I usually don’t see when I am making a visit, but perhaps this time it was due to my Granma’s birthday and it just so happens, her birthday is the same day as mine! April 27. Lucky us that this day just happened to fall into the two weeks of my leave ( vacation ) from Japan & the Marine Corps. We ate, talked, drank, and played games. It was good ‘ol homesome fun not to mention profitable; I won $30 dollars in a small Texas Hold’em game me and my uncles & Dad were in. I told them to consider it a ten dollar lesson. My skill level was just much higher then theirs. Well, the main reason for posting was that I wanted to tell my readers that the conjuction between my Mom’s family and Hiromi went very well. They loved each other, even though Hiromi was a bit shy, they looked past that and knew it was just those first time jitters. My Grandma gave her a kiss which I thought was a nice touch to the “meet my girlfriend/future wife” check-list that I’ve created in my head. According to the check-list, all I have to do now is meet her parents more formally, and were though with that boat ride! Then its question time and bam-O! We’re together forever…finally.
