Well, we got our off-base liberty again. If you don’t know, here on Okinawa, Marines abide by the Gold/Red card rule set by the General of the Marines in this part of the world. If you have a red card you have to be back on base by midnight, while the Gold can go on and off anytime. So you have to be a good Marine to get the gold card but sometimes, the unit CO can deny liberty to anyone reguardless of card. That is the current state we are in. All Marines in the unit are restricted to their quarters at midnight, reguardless of where they live, on base or out in town. So if you are married and live out in town, even though no one will probably know, you aren’t allowed out pass midnight. Kind of puts a Marine’s integrity into check huh? I don’t know if I would follow that rule if I lived out in town with Hiromi simply because I know I don’t fuck up like other Marines.

Yea, so, for about two weeks is it?…we haven’t been able to go off base or go to the Enlisted Club because we were dry meaning we can’t drink alcohol. We weren’t allowed to leave the barracks unless we had another person with us. Now, our Commanding Officer let us free a bit by giving off-base libo ( what Marines call liberty ) BUT we have to have three other Marines with us, a fire team. So we can go out in town in fours or greater and we can drink, but not in the barracks. And we still have the Cinderella curfew. I guess thats good because now I can go see Hiromi and seeing Hiromi is good!! Why? Because now I have my birth certificate! So now we can now start the motor to our marriage train! Whooo whoo!!

I want to get married now and when I come back off of deployment, throw a party or something like that at a hotel or a curise. I like the idea of a island party and her island, Tonaki, is nice!!! I just want her to be happy…I don’t want to fail at throwing a party for her. Okinawan marriage parties are big man. These people don’t leave the island so their friends and family list are HUGE! I’m talking 20+ years of meeting friends and family up the ying-yang ( thats twice I’ve used this phrase in the past week! ). I got to start planning more hardcore. HARDCORE PLANNING! Call me for some HARDCORE planning! ….Ok, I’ll stop. Holla!
