It has been awhile since I’ve uploaded a photo to my flickr account. I really need to start taking advantage of what I paid good money for. In the midst of all that is happening in my life, I decided to take a small breather and purchase a toy camera. My choices weren’t limited as in Japan, toy cameras are sort of a rebelic movement of the youth. I decided to go with two cameras. I got a Superheadz Harinezumi ( a mini 110 film camera ) and a Holga 120.

The Harinezumi, or Haichi ( qpöbby ), is a small camera about the size of 4 dice put together and it uses the old 110 film. This 1/100, F/11 camera takes nice, clear pictures from what I can tell upon searching for results using flickr. I already used up the three rolls I had so I am just waiting for them to come back from mainland Japan, which is where I had to send them to get developed. Should be back by the end of the week then I’ll use my scanner at work and upload them next week. I like taking pictures and people looking at me like, “Is that a real camera?”

My other camera is a Holga 120 GCFN with a 35mm film modification. Here is my first test set. Stock, it uses the 120 film made popular in China, but I wanted my pictures to be digitalized so I opted for the 35mm modification. There is also a Polaroid mod so I plan on getting that one of these days. The camera is nice. No light leaks ( although this is a sought after effect ) and sturdy. I dropped it twice already. There is so much stuff I can do to this camera it isn’t even funny. I’m in the works of getting a free fisheye lens and some color filters and some crazy filters too. I should have these 3 new rolls done and digitalized by next weekend.

Da Wife

Isn’t she beautiful?

I’ve been enjoying the outcome of these toy cameras and I want to get more. There is a shop here that has a bunch of old cameras and I plan on getting as many 35mm cameras as I can find. Maybe even a Rollei. Well, just know, I plan to once again use my flickr account. Man, life is busy and this is all happening without the baby being born yet! I can’t wait until he is out.
