I went ahead and bought a digital camcorder to record all the great moments in my son’s life and in mine. Its on of those new HDD cams; you know, the ones with no disc or tape. The GZ-MG255 from JVC Everio G series. I’ll have to admit, it is pretty fun and nice to use.

Except for when its dark, the camera’s quality is excellent. Provide you aren’t running around or moving alot. The image will be stablized, but not too much when you are moving. With a 30 Gb harddrive I have recoreded about 5 10 minute videos and still had room for more. I had it on the ultra fine setting so I think it has up to 7 hours of record time. The battery is a bit weak so I’ll be upgrading that in awhile.

Funny thing is that I bought this camera because I saw my friend had it when I went to go visit him in the barracks. I know its odd, but picture this ad with a black guy and a mexican guy and you’ll have a picture of how exactly I got sold into buying this camera.

I’m also now diving a bit into video editting. Sooooo…maybe after reading a few tutorials and a book or two, I’ll be a programming, gaming, SEO Blackhat, lock picking, pokemon, and video making junkie. I think I’m a hobby whore.
