Sad as it is to say it doesn’t surprise me. A lot of military people think they are “Gods” or something and have the right to do whatever they want. Course those are probably the same people who went in already thinking they were big shit and being in the military just boosted their ego more. Sad. Luckily most the military people I know are not that type.

Innocent till proven otherwise doesn’t hold here in Japan and especially when involving an American service member. What strikes me as odd is that it isn’t about the girl and the American, its about the American Bases. She is being used as a political rocket. Sad, but we’ll have to see what happens. Nothing new here, just Japan exploiting Okinawa, and Okinawans of course following the propaganda to heart. But no matter what, this is still a crime.
