A three part series ( Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 )
In today’s world of social web and media, we are honing our skills to giving people are opinion. We surf the endless internet and read reviews, post, comments, photos, and any other means of media and we comment on it. To our friends, loved ones, internet, dog, cat, empty room…whatever. I try to keep my comments to myself however and choose the path of “silent is most intelligent” type. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes, I have to comment because it is an issue that I think I am pretty knowledgeable in.
Okinawa and it’s US/Japan military occupation. This is something I think I know a little bit about. I don’t know the deep, deep beef inside but I am slowly getting there by chewing the fat. Well, one day, an Okinawan friend of mine pointed a picture out to me. This one, but he didn’t show it to me because of the picture, but rather the title.
“why is the u.s. in okinawa anyway? same old bullshit by the bullshitters”
We fear what we don’t understand. This holds true even today when information is at our fingertips. I told my friend this, and he insisted I comment on it. I decided to. I got my commented deleted after a third party decided to comment on it as well who I had no control over. Actually, the poster said that the third party commenting was an act of “attack my photos” so…yea. Next was this image with this description.
“spring equinox-thinking on a rabid comment left by an insane military fool…who then had his military buddy attack my photos too. all because of how i feel about the military in okinawa. the military can kiss my ass….so can the brainwashed robot militia men who follow the course and crooked path of bush….enjoy yourselves boys. have fun playing hero…while you march around with guns and empty victories, an innocent place, okinawa, loses it’s balance, but never it’s heart. we shall overcome.”
Quite noble ‘eh? Notice the oxymoron. I write about how I feel about Okinawa and my comment gets deleted, but the poster is upset because she got commented on how they feel about Okinawa. Another photo came up, but I really so no reason to talk about it because it gives out the basic response of frustration people feel when an incident occurs.
Being as this is a long post already, I will split this up into two post. This is just the background you need to know so the second post makes sense. Even though I talked so much about this topic already. Keep an eye open for that next one!

Pretty fucked up your comment got deleted. If people don’t want to hear/aren’t willing to hear the opinions of others then they should just keep their mouths shut. Simple minded fools. (Ok now I sound like Rich. lol Oh well.)
