A three part series ( Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 )

Alright, let us break this down simple style. The whole rape thing. Here is a hard truth to swallow. No one knows what happen except two people. And those two people said different stories as far as everyone else knows. Whatever did happen, we know he wasn’t suppose to do what ever he did. It caused all this nonsense to stir up. I commented on this statement. “why is the u.s. in okinawa anyway? same old bullshit by the bullshitters” and the photo pointing at a protest on media. The Japanese Police are meticulous on releasing certain information to make sure the public gets the “right” idea. Think about what they said in the initial reports. You would have thought the rape did occur and that this American military member was to be publicly hanged the next week. After they leaked the information, they quickly turned themselves into a hardshell not letting any media in on development or updates. Why leak, then not come clean? Why didn’t they address the information that was out already?

I’m not here to put words in the mouth of Okinawans. I can’t speak for a collective group. My wife is Okinawa, I have plenty of Okinawan friends, and a huge Okinawan family that stretches back to the time of WWII. But, I am not them. I just know what they tell me. I know they don’t like American crime, but understand that it will happen. Denouncing it, protesting it, and fighting it is a part of SOME Okinawan’s life. But most care not to because it is following the mob and they know what is fair and unfair. I know they dislike the Japanese judicial system and hand and hand with it, the Japanese bias media. The first thing my sisters-in-law and mother-in-law told me when the “Rape” occurred was “Wow, what a stupid girl.” I should have been shocked, but I felt the same way deep down. I just thought piety would overcome them, but they are not Okinawans who are easily taken by the media/mob sweep. They know how the box works and they stand clear of its puzzles and games. Yes, they dislike how an American committed the crime, but they felt sorry for how he was going to be treated for his stupid act. They knew whatever happen, more BS was going to occur when it should not have happened and could have been prevented had certain people on BOTH sides worked together. Why do some Okinawans feel one way, and then people on the outside come in and tell them how they are suppose to feel? Knowledge.

Anti-American groups will spend thousands to send activist to Okinawa just to rally up a protest that isn’t doing much because the problem lies in their own den when it comes to problem solving. Yes, America can say, “OK, we will remove the bases” but they aren’t stupid. They will wait until Japan’s government/Prime Minister wants them removed. Has this happened? No. So to answer the first question username: mr.jones, the military is here because of a treaty. Want to know more? Look up the Security Treaty and the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and you will find more answers. Japan has the power to rid themselves of the military. But they know better. As long as people will protest against the U.S. Government, they feel no weight to make action, furthermore! they actually gain power for financial and political gains against the US! Every time an incident happens, they can squeeze the budget they have for projects such as base redevelopment and complete base overhauls and moves. So there you go for the second part. “same old bullshit by the bullshitters” Yes. It is just Japan exploiting its own ( I don’t like saying its own because I feel Okinawa should be free of Japan, therefore voiding the treaty and removing the bases ) and people like yourself following the herd without any knowledge of the demon box that has a hold on your poor, misjudged thinking.
